Courses and Workshops

Benevolence's foundation is strongly built upon traditional Islamic sciences and the spiritual guidance of respected teachers of sound knowledge.

Our courses are tailored for new converts, reconnecting Muslims, and those interested in learning more about Islam. Sessions are conducted in a small group environment, encouraging interaction and active participation for everyone.

Intro to Islam

This full-day course covers the core beliefs and practices of Islam based on the three dimensions of Islam:
  • Islam - ritual worship
  • Iman - faith and belief
  • Ihsan - striving for excellence

How to Pray

This workshop focuses on ritual prayer (salat) and its place and purpose in the life of a Muslim. The spiritual and physical aspects of prayer are explored in detail, as well as the benefits one can obtain from the regular practice of ritual prayer.

Prepare for Ramadan

Whether it's your first time fasting or you've already experienced Ramadan, this workshop is designed to cover the fundamentals relating to fasting and the spiritual elements of this blessed month. Learn how to make the most of the opportunity that is gifted to us once a year.

Weekly Classes

Join us for an ongoing weekly class aimed to inspire, motivate, and reconnect with one's spiritual journey to God.

Benevolence believes in a well-rounded curriculum based on the Islamic legal, intellectual and spiritual tradition, as derived from the Qur'an and the words and actions of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Benevolence also encourages a curriculum based on history, literature, philosophy, sociology and other disciplines.

Our weekly Living with Excellence class is conducted in semesters. Guest speakers are also invited, and a Mawlid is held during each semester.
