Please read and become familiar with the policies below. Please note that by accepting your child’s enrollment you are thereby accepting these policies.
For safety and accountability reasons, we require that you sign-in your child upon arrival, and sign-out before leaving.
Parents who are intending to stay at BeneKids, excluding Preschool parents, must sign-in and sign-out as well. The log book is located in front of the office, Room K516.
Parents drop off their children in the morning to their respective classes and pick-up their children from the foyer at finish time.
All classes commence at 10am SHARP, thus students are required to arrive by 9:45am.
Preschool classes conclude at 12pm.
All other students finish class at 1pm and should be collected from the madrassah at this time. Parents need to sign-out each of their children, so that we have a record that all children have been picked up.
Children are not permitted to leave the school grounds other than at normal dismissal time. Should you wish your child to be allowed to leave at a time earlier than the end of class, an email is necessary. If someone other than the usual parent/carer is picking up the child, a form will need to be filled out in the office.
For Preschool, parents are required to stay with their children for the duration of the session.
All children must be collected from BeneKids no later than 1:10pm on Saturdays. We kindly ask that you be mindful of the other commitments of BeneKids/Youth teachers and be on time to collect your children.
Education is a continuous process and where possible an uninterrupted program is necessary. We understand that there are times when children will occasionally miss madrassah due to illness or personal commitments.
It is imperative that students maintain regular attendance at madrassah to maximise their chance of learning, to minimise disruptions to the rest of the class, and because lessons are taught on a sequential basis.
If key lessons are missed, children will struggle to keep up with their peers. For this reason, we stipulate that if any students from Prep – Teens miss three (3) or more weeks of madrassah in a term, both parents and the student/s must meet with the students’ teachers to discuss missed work and arrange how appropriate catch-ups can be made for this work. If more than 3 weeks are going to be missed from a term, families may want to consider un-enrolling their students for a term (see “unenrolling: temporary and permanent”, below).
We ask that you treat madrassah as you would your regular day school in terms of punctuality and respect for teachers. As subjects are taught at the same time each week, children who are repeatedly late will miss the same key subject each week. Younger children who are repeatedly late for class will be asked to have a meeting with their parents and teacher.
If a child is late to class, they need to collect a late pass from the office, Room K516, before going to class.
If you wish to withdraw your child/children from BeneKids for a set period of time (for example, a term) there are two options:
When a place opens up, they will be offered a new position at madrassah. It should be noted that child/ren may be on the waitlist for more than three years, and positions can only be provided when there is a spot made available.
If your child/children are to be permanently un-enrolled in BeneKids, we require an email sent to the BeneKids/Youth Administration (admin.bk@benevolenceaustralia.org) stating this. Any outstanding weeks from paid term fees will not be refunded if the child/children are un-enrolled part way through a term.
Please let us know in advance as we have a very long waiting list with many families trying to get their children enrolled.
BeneKids does not have uniforms; we have a free dress policy with the following notations:
All students are required to wear pants, no shorts.
Grade 5 Girls and above: Long Sleeved Shirts/Dress & Long Pants
Hijab is only compulsory for girls who are in the Qur’an-reading group (final level), and is only compulsory while in that Quran-reading class (i.e. it does not have to be worn at other times of madrassah). Other girls are welcome to wear hijab, but it is not mandatory. Girls who are on Book 5 and Book 6 are highly recommended to wear a hijab.
All girls should wear hijab (and should bring their own) for our Congregational Prayer.
Please be advised that if your child does not come dressed appropriately, they will receive three warnings and parents will be required to come and see the Principal to address the issue.
In terms 1 and 4, all children should have a hat for outside play. If children do not have a hat, they will be encouraged to stay in the shade or inside.

Items that are left behind at BeneKids are collected and stored in the Lost and Found tub in the office in Room K516. Items that are not claimed are given to charity at the end of each term.
In case of a medical emergency we will make every attempt to contact you or your emergency contact person. If it is impractical and/or we are unable to contact you, BeneKids shall authorise any medical treatment considered necessary by a qualified first aid/medical practitioner. In the event that an ambulance will be called, all costs incurred during this emergency will be the sole responsibility of the parents/guardians.
Parents/Guardians are responsible for providing any Medical Plans and informing BeneKids of any medical issues or concerns for their child/children. An updated medical plan is required annually at the start of the year. Parents will need to submit the forms at the beginning of the year to the BeneKids Admin admin.bk@benevolenceaustralia.org.
For example, if a child has asthma, it is the parent’s responsibility to provide an Asthma action plan and supply an inhaler or any other required medications.
