BeneKids/Youth is a Saturday school established to provide a place for young Muslims to learn about their identity in a caring, fun and interactive environment whilst promoting the Arabic language and culture through speaking, listening, reading and writing.
Our program reflects this with fun activities implemented with love and a focus on being a good citizen, making good friends, seeing faith and its traditions and language as relevant and important for today.
We are committed to having a low teacher-student ratio in the interests of good connections between students and teachers, and all topics are taught in age-appropriate and engaging ways, with an emphasis on their relevance to the students’ lives in a modern, Australian context.

We include congregational prayer from 12.30 pm to 1 pm which has been a beautiful addition to our curriculum as it teaches the children how to make wudu and pray, and creates a sense of community. Parents are also welcome to join our congregational prayer.
Please note that times are subject to change slightly during Ramadan.
Parents drop off their children in the morning to their respective classes and pick-up their children from the foyer at finish time.
For children from Prep - Grade 6, parents must sign their children in and out.
The only parents who attend classes with their children are the Preschool class as they need to be with their children for their personal needs.
If you live a distance away, there are a few coffee shops around the area and also Westfield Doncaster Shopping Center on Doncaster Road. Occasionally, there are special classes you may like to attend at BeneHouse located at 125 George St, Doncaster East VIC 3108.
Every term we teach a different topic and under each topic there are specific lesson plans related to that topic.
For example:
Term 1 in Prep class, the topic is Aqeeda (Belief in Allah). Relating lessons, to name a few are:
1. Who is Allah – Starting with Allah’s names: Al-Wadud
2: Building on Who is Allah? Al-Ahad and Al-Khaliq
3: An-Nur
4: Al-Lateef and Ar-Razzaq
5: Al-Hadi
6: As-Sami and Al-Basir
Other term topics (across all year levels) are Civics, Adab/Akhlaq (manners), Fiqh, Seerah, Quran, Salat and Dua, People of the Quran etc. We also learn about and celebrate special days, events and months (Ramadan, Eid al-Fitr, the days of Hajj and Eid al-Adha, Rabbi'ul Awal etc..) incorporating it in our lesson plans for the term.
